RechtFit High Performance · Correctional Officers

Prepare for the physical requirements. Maintain readiness throughout service.

RechtFit combines targeted preparation for the motor-fitness test in basic training with long-term sports-science monitoring for serving correctional officers.

Official requirements profile

The current fitness test provides a concrete occupation-specific reference point.

According to currently published information from the Austrian justice system, physical fitness is assessed not during recruitment but during basic training. Aerobic fitness, strength and power, and physical mobility are prerequisites for sports and operational training.

15 Meter Pendellauf

20 lengths or 10 rounds equal 300 m. Maximum time: men 1:40 min, women 1:50 min.

Obstacle course – 3 rounds

The obstacle course is completed three times without interruption. It includes repeated jumps over benches and a vaulting box as well as repositioning medicine balls.

Rescue task

The course includes a simulated casualty rescue using an approximately 65 kg rescue dummy over 2 × 5 m.

Obstacle-course time limit

For all three rounds combined, the justice system states maximum times of 3:15 min for men and 3:54 min for women.

Service 1 · Preparation

Prepare specifically for basic training.

The official test primarily answers whether the required task is passed. Preparation additionally analyses the performance factors behind the result: aerobic capacity, acceleration and deceleration, changes of direction, strength and power, mobility, strength endurance, and load-carrying and rescue tasks.

  • Baseline check and individual performance profile
  • test-specific preparation for shuttle run and obstacle course
  • additional endurance, strength, power and mobility tests
  • training planning and regular re-checks

Service 2 · Occupational readiness

Not a one-off test – monitor readiness throughout working life.

For serving correctional officers, the same occupation-specific approach can be used for recurring checks and individual training guidance. The official fitness test is only one component of a broader sports-science profile.

RechtFit Framework

Integrate occupation-specific requirements into the existing system.

MOVE

Mobility, changes of direction and obstacle movement.

STRENGTH

Strength, power, load carrying and rescue tasks.

RECOVER

Load tolerance, recovery and practical training management around shift work.

FOCUS

Coordination and stable task execution under physical load – without psychological diagnostics.

HEALTH

General physical performance foundations and endurance – without medical diagnostics.

A separate occupation-specific Correctional Service Performance Index can later be added. Its methodology will only be defined in Phase 2 and on a robust professional basis.

Organisation level

Also for institutions – without exposing individual employee data.

The existing RechtFit system can display anonymised group development across multiple checkpoints. The implemented minimum-group-size rule remains in place: institutions receive no individual performance or health profiles, only approved aggregated group data.
